Case 01 · Consumer service
Weluma Labs · Designed & built solo · 2024–present
A water test is only viable if the sample kit makes it back to the lab. Every unreturned kit is a total loss: materials, shipping, and acquisition costs.
Treat the days a kit sits on a kitchen counter as part of the product, and give people a return-by date instead of an open-ended request.
Median return time fell 27%, from 15 days to 11.

Case 02 · B2B marketplace
GraphiteRx · Head of Product Design · 2020–2022
Rush order support tickets were climbing with growth, and the fix on the table was another support hire at $60–80k a year.
Discovered why tickets were being filed: design partner research showed stand-in buyers were missing daily deadlines, so real-time cutoff warnings were added to the ordering screen.
Rush requests fell 44%. The hire wasn’t needed.

Case 03 · Climate tech
Sealed · Director of Creative Strategy · June 2022–September 2023
Sealed financed home energy upgrades upfront and recouped costs through energy savings, requiring us to reach homeowners before they actively searched for efficiency. As Director of Creative Strategy, I led the eight-month design and launch of the Home Energy Calculator alongside Product, Marketing, and the C-suite. The interactive tool gave homeowners a clear picture of household energy loss while capturing qualified leads in return.
Beyond product delivery, I managed a team of four (two designers, a developer, and a video editor), agency relationships, and a $1.3M annual budget. Integrating AI production tools and renegotiating vendor contracts cut operational spend by 10% without reducing output.
The interactive prototype is still live. Try it here.
Case 04 · Management consulting
KPMG · UX Manager · 2014–2016
KPMG’s Spectrum monitored global events (political instability, natural disasters, labor disruption) and scored the financial risk posed to a company’s suppliers. The UI had to bridge two conflicting user needs: analysts tracing micro-level supplier data and executives looking for a single macro score.
I designed the core dashboard interface, which was granted U.S. Design Patent USD817983 (“Electronic device display screen with a graphical user interface”). The patented UI has since been cited by 57 subsequent patents, including filings from Palantir, SAP, Nutanix, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Mapping multi-dimensional risk
Our risk data spanned four dimensions: velocity, connectedness, impact, and likelihood. Standard chart types produced misleading conclusions and were difficult to scan. By conducting SME interviews to map how analysts naturally reason about threat vectors, I designed and validated a custom visualization model across three iterative releases.
B2B engagement within Big Four brand constraints
To drive trade show lead generation, I designed the Risk Modeler: an iPad game that turned real-time risk assessment into an interactive experience for prospects. The challenge was balancing event engagement with strict corporate identity, creating an unexpected trade-show interaction that remained fully compliant with KPMG brand governance.
Case 05
Two years of engagements across finance, healthcare, insurance, and consumer software — walking into unfamiliar businesses, finding the real problem, and shipping.
Slimware / IAC. Slimware built PC optimization software in a utility category where competitors fought over feature count, resulting in cluttered interfaces, heavy ad placements, and confused users. After conducting a heuristic audit and competitive analysis, I recommended competing on user experience clarity rather than matching bloated feature lists. I designed the mobile version of SlimCleaner around that strategy.
